Seat Belt Extenders - Seat Belt Extensions

  • Seat Belt Extenders! For larger sized drivers or passengers that need universal aftermarket seat belt extenders to extend their factory seatbelts that just don't fit. It will work on most any seat of any car, truck or van. Our seat belt extenders are Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) #209 & #302 Approved. We have two options, one that attaches to the base of the existing seat belt buckle, and one that inserts into the top of the existing buckle. Don't be frustrated any longer due to the lack of availability of an easy solution to your problem. Our seatbelt extender adds anywhere from 6" to 24 inches to the length of your safety belt.

  • Our seat belt extender avoids both of the 2 common issues involved in adding an extension to the safety belt of your vehicle. Many car manufacturers have not made extenders available to their car owners. One problem is that each auto manufacturer has different tongue and buckle systems for their seat belts, so it is difficult to come up with a universal solution that can be snapped into the existing buckle of a seat belt. The other problem is a safety issue. Honda, for instance, has been reluctant to supply an extender that can be clicked into the male end of their 3 point seat belts, and for good reason; it does appear to be less safe. When an extension is added to the "click-on" end of the belt, it re-aligns the shoulder harness portion of the seat belt towards the door. So the shoulder restraint becomes off-centered on the driver or passenger's body, which can allow the body to slip out from under the restraint more easily during impact. With our anchor bracket to anchor bracket extender, both of these above mentioned problems are solved. It can add one foot of overall length to the seatbelt system. Since this extender is easily added on to the seat belt system where it connects to the door post (near or on the floor of the vehicle), it adds overall length to the entire safety restraint system; so the shoulder restraint portion remains centered on the occupant.

  • A seat belt extender can be used if you find that your seat belt is too tight, or if you want to secure something in place that is larger than the original belt allows. To install an OEM bolt-in seat belt extender, follow these simple instructions:

Step # 1: Find the end of the seat belt inside the vehicle (this will be attached to the vehicle frame or the seat) and remove the original hex bolt from the seat belt.

Step # 2: To install the extender, simply place the bent end of the extender in the place where you just removed the seat belt. Replace the nut and bolt that you removed earlier to fix this end of the extender in place.

Step # 3: Insert the hex bolt you purchased with the seat belt extender through the other end of the extender (flat side). Then place it into the metal section of the seat belt that you detached from the vehicle, and through the washer and lock nut and firmly tighten.

Step # 4: Before you use the modified seat belt, check all connecting parts, make sure all the nuts and bolts are adequately tight, and make sure the seat belt is not twisted.

OEM's aftermarket seat belts extenders are not specific to any vehicle year, make or model.
